If you are clicking onto this article and you are not sure what alopecia is, alopecia is a condition that causes hair to fall out of the scalp. There are many different types of alopecia, types that are not so serious such as experiencing having one to a few bald spots…
Which is the same condition I got my self and it’s called Alopecia Areata.
This is a photo of my alopecia at its worst in November 2018. However, I first got the bald spot in June 2018 and it progressively got bigger over time.
![](https://saranelle.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/img_5984.jpg)
Then there are types that are more severe that can lead you to loosing all your hair.
Till this day, researchers and doctors say that a cure still has not been found yet for alopecia.
According to researches, some people say their alopecia has been cured but others have said the opposite. Some also experience their alopecia being cured and then they appear again after some time…
It can be stressful being a person that has alopecia because there really isn’t much helpful information out there about it yet.
There are many unknowns when it comes to alopecia.
But for people who are struggling with this, your main concern is probably “how can we grow our hair back and not suffer from balding anymore?”…

#1: Argan Rain Shampoo
![](https://saranelle.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/img_6077-2.jpg)
Argan Rain shampoo is the #1 product that has helped my hair STOP shedding (it literally stopped shedding guys! I am serious).
When going through alopecia the hair sheds like crazy only causing a person to get more and more bald spots.
Argan rain is specifically made to prevent hair loss by stoping our hair from shedding. This product 100 % does that for you.
![](https://saranelle.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/img_2187-1-1.jpg)
I started using Argan Rain in November and by the end of January my bald spot was completely gone!
![](https://saranelle.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/screen-shot-2020-06-13-at-1.41.58-am-4.png)
Hard to believe right? I had the same reaction but it’s true!
And these are photos that I documented my self in case you still don’t believe me!
Before buying this product I thought it was just some infomercial type of product that is not going to do anything. But I was honestly so desperate that I just bought it.
I am so thankful I did!! I want to cry honestly.
After just 1 month, I started to feel the roots growing in on my bald spot and then after continuing to use it consistently, I noticed my bald patch getting smaller and smaller.
![](https://saranelle.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/img_1695-1.jpg)
![](https://saranelle.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/img_1702-1.jpg)
I noticed my hair also stopped shedding. Each week I started to shed less and less, until now where I barely shed any hair.
I probably only shed at least 5 strands of hair each day.
This is great because at this point I knew I wasn’t losing any more hair and I could just focus on growing my hair back.
Then, after only a few months of consistently using this product my bald spot was gone!
And short baby hairs started to appear as if all the hair that I lost in those previous months, we’re all starting to grow back!
About Argan Rain Shampoo:
Argan Rain shampoo is more expensive than regular shampoos.
It’s about $70-$80. But its definitely worth it and it works super fast!
It’s all-natural and has a great scent.
When you get out of the shower after using this, your hair feels super soft and your hair looks and feels super thick!
I remember getting out the shower one day when using the shampoo and when my hair dried, my sister literally said I looked like Snooki from Jersey Shore because she always styled her hair in a big poof!
How To Use:
![morning, girl, beautiful](https://saranelle.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/morning-girl-beautiful-1369446-1024x696.jpg)
To use Argan Rain, you don’t need to use a big portion. A dime-size portion is enough!
Make sure to massage the product into your scalp for about 2 minutes for the best and quickest results!
If you have longer hair like me, pouring another dime size portion and rubbing that to the bottom half portion of your hair will do.
But for people with shorter hair, a dime size portion should be enough for your whole head!
You can use this product every day but I personally only wash my hair twice a week and so that’s how many times I used this product and I still got great results.
Also, by only using this product twice a week my bottle lasted me up to a year.
Quick Tips For Fast Results:
When using this product while trying to grow your hair, it’s important to stop using all the regular shampoos you use to use that is filled with ingredients that are damaging the hair.
Also try to avoid harsh hair styling products and tools for the meantime, while trying to grow your hair back because that’s what helped me get quicker results.
![beauty, brunette, cute](https://saranelle.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/beauty-brunette-cute-15932-300x200.jpg)
Once you grow your hair back you can return to your other products but still try to not use it as often and just stick to argan rain, to prevent losing hair in the future.
Also, try to stop styling your hair in hairstyles that are very tight and that pull on your scalp a lot.
Therefore, try to avoid tight and high ponytails and tight buns. Instead, style your hair in low and loose ponytails or buns.
Remember, everyone is different and the results may be quicker or slower for you.
However, just be patient and avoid any damaging hair products, tools, and hairstyles, and eventually, you will get your hair back!
I know its annoying to have to go through all of this and to spend money but it will be worth it!
Along with Argan Rain there are other natural products I used to make the hair growth process faster…
So, onto the second product that has helped me…
#2: DIY All-Natural African Black Soap Shampoo:
![](https://saranelle.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/img_6133-1.jpg)
![](https://saranelle.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/img_6137-1.jpg)
When doing research on other natural products I can use for hair growth, I noticed there is a lot of different natural oils you can use.
I had also come across people on the internet mixing those oils with African black soap and creating a shampoo from these ingredients and apparently it helps with hair growth.
I myself tried it and I believe using this along with the argan rain shampoo helped the process of growing my hair back become a lot faster.
Sometimes all your damaged hair really needs are those natural oils that can give your hair the nutrients they need to be healthy.
Just like how we need to take our vitamins to be healthy. It’s the same with our hair.
And so after going to my local beauty supply store, where I bought a bunch of different oils for hair and where I also bought the African black soap, I then mixed it all together in a bottle and used it as a shampoo.
You can also purchase the soap here on amazon if your store doesn’t have. This is one that I used before.
I would massage this DIY shampoo in my scalp for about 2 minutes and then I go ahead and massage the argan rain shampoo in my head afterward.
Ingredients for the DIY shampoo:
![olive oil, salad dressing, cooking](https://saranelle.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/olive-oil-salad-dressing-cooking-968657-1024x682.jpg)
- African black soap, this is what makes the mixture soapy like a shampoo. (Make sure to get the real and natural African black soap. How can you tell? Real African black soap is brown, not black. It is also cheaper than the ones drugstore brands sell).
- Rosemary Oil
- Lavender Oil
- Jojoba Oil
- Vitamin E Oil
- Tea Tree Oil
- Castor Oil
All these oils that I purchased, including the black soap, is less than $10.00 at my local beauty supply store, which I find is the best place to go to because they sell these oils for the cheapest.
However, at my beauty supply I couldn’t find just pure Rosemary or Lavender Oil and so I purchased mine on amazon.
You can buy the same ones I got here for rosemary and here for lavender. These are the EXACT ones I used and it works wonders.
It has also lasted me for about 2 years.
You also don’t need to get strictly just these oils that I mentioned. At the beauty supply store, you will see that there are many different natural hair oils and on the bottle, it even sometimes say what its good for.
If you see a hair oil that you need for your hair then add it to the mixture, its all natural anyways.
How to make the African black soap shampoo:
![soap, oil, almonds](https://saranelle.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/soap-oil-almonds-2333391-1024x575.jpg)
Step 1: get everything you need. Oils, soap and a bottle you can use.
Step 2: cut the black soap with a knife into tiny pieces. Then put it in the bottle. It should fill up half of the bottle. There should be more soap then oil because if not you will get out of the shower with extremely oily hair.
The soap is needed to avoid oiliness. However, African black soap can be drying to the scalp. Which is not good. That’s why it’s important to mix oils with it and to moisturize your scalp when you get out of the shower, with any hair oil or hair butter to keep the scalp moist.
Step 3: pour hot water or Lukewarm water into the bottle with the soap. I suggest putting hot water as it helps dissolve the hard soap into a liquid, which will be easier to apply to the hair. The water should take up a quarter of the bottle. Leave just a bit of room for the oils.
Step 4: add each oil to the bottle. You should have a dropper to make it easier but sometimes the oils from the beauty supply already come with a dropper or have it as it’s cap. You only need to pour 5-10 drops for each oil.
Step 5: Close the bottle and mix it well. You can set it aside in your shower so everything can dissolve together.
When you use it, the soap should be a liquid form. Every time before using this, make sure to shake it so the oils are well mixed together.
And then there you go! Your own DIY shampoo that helps with hair growth.
This shampoo will make sure your hair is getting the nutrients it needs to stay healthy and moisturized with all the natural products we put in it.
Onto the next product that has helped me…
#3: Shea butter:
![](https://saranelle.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/img_6100.jpg)
When having alopecia, I find that sometimes I would have very dry patches around my head and since it’s so dry, hair starts to fall out.
It’s important that we keep our scalp moisturized and so after using the argan rain shampoo and the African black soap shampoo, massage your scalp with a moisturizer.
Shea butter is a great natural way to moisturize your scalp to avoid dry patches.
You can get Raw & Natural shea butter here on amazon or visit your local beauty supply. I saw this same product at my beauty supply.
Also what I love about shea butter is that it has the buttery, soft texture that dissolves in the hair quite nice and doesn’t leave the hair looking oily.
You can definitely use hair oils to moisturize your hair but if you need to go somewhere during the day and don’t want your hair looking oily and greasy, Shea butter is a great alternative.
How to apply:
![cream, lotion, hands](https://saranelle.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/cream-lotion-hands-4713579-1024x682.jpg)
You can use the shea butter by just simply massaging it in your scalp for about 2 minutes but specifically on the dry patches…if you have some.
You can do this after the shower or before bed. It is completely up to you.
If you find that your scalp is extremely dry, try to do it as often to avoid loosing hair on that spot.
MAKE SURE it is 100% raw shea butter. Again you can find this at the beauty supply store for very cheap.
Onto the last product I used during my hair growth journey…
#4: Wild Growth Oil:
![](https://saranelle.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/img_6119.jpg)
Wild Growth is an oil that you can purchase here on amazon. It is also found and sold in beauty supply stores. It is popular for its abilities to help grow hair back especially your hair edges, hairline, or even your lashes or eyebrows.
It’s all natural, it is just a mixture of different oils and other natural products.
It doesn’t have a bad scent and it’s affordable.
I didn’t use this often but it was still something I used during my hair growth journey.
So it is likely that it may have played a role with growing my hair back.
You can also find a lot of reviews on it online and on youtube, where a lot of people had said it helped grow their edges or hairline back.
However, I haven’t seen a lot of people use it for alopecia. But its worth a try!
My Hair Now!

That it! That is all the products I have used during my hair growth journey!
I’m sure you are also curious as to what my hair looks like now…
This image above is what my hair looks like now in 2020, I actually got up from writing this post to take this image on my phone haha.
As you can tell my hair has been in a bun all day from writing and that is how my hair turned out looking like, pretty cool actually.
Anyways, I got alopecia in June 2018 where I had one bald spot and where I was continuously loosing hair, as you saw in the previous images.
As you also saw in the images above, my hair line gotten really thin.
As you can see now, my hairline has grown back and my hair got thicker.

Therefore, I want you all to know that these results are possible for you as well.
